Some Environmental Questions
Ok, so this is my first post on this blog. What is this blog all about? Why did I make a new blog? In short, I have come to believe that Christians (and nonchristians) are woefully uninformed (often misinformed) about environmental and health issues. Some examples of this are:
- What is global warming all about? Is that the same thing as climate change?
- Is the ozone layer depleting? Is there really a small hole in the ozone above my head if I use hair spray?
- Is desertification what happens when I put cinnamon on my toast?
- Why are we deforesting the forests?
- What the heck is biodiversity loss?
- Is our planet’s population really growing exponentially? Are we really going to have 50 bazillion people in 10 years?
- Why dont fish stop eating that Mercury?
- Acid rain? Did Hugo Chavez cause that?
- Is Houston really sinking?
- Can I care about the environment too, or do I have to be a “liberal” (said in a whisper)?
These are a few of the confusing issues that we hear about all the time on the news and from our friends. In this blog I want to discuss these from a scientific, humanitarian, and yes a Christian worldview. Any questions?
